The Jabberwock, also known as the Jabberwocky, was a creature of Wonderland and an enemy of Alice Liddell, who acted as a monstrous manifestation of Alice's survivor guilt over the death of her family. Alice never met the Jabberwock personally during her childhood, only in a poem entitled Jabberwocky.

Jabberwocky is the first book in a classic poetry series illustrated by some of today’s most talented and imaginative artists. Newly re-imagined by the artist Stéphane Jorisch, this Jabberwocky becomes a treatise on warfare, gender roles, rigid expectations by those considered our elders and the self-serving babble spoken by those in authority/5.

Jabberwocky's imagery is like Hyronimous Bosch paintings come to life, and like Bosch, Gilliam seems bent on relentlessly packing as much visual information into every frame as possible. The downside of Gilliam's approach is that the narrative can seem at times disjointed, even scatterbrained, but on the other hand this is a film that never /5().

The Jabberwocky in the end is also nicely done, kinda like a large Muppet, the old man in a suit routine. Nicely designed but I'm sure will look hokey to some now. The film is pretty dated now but 47%.
