My Bloody Valentine are a rock band formed in Dublin in Since , its lineup has consisted of founding members Kevin Shields (vocals, guitar, sampler) and Colm Ó Cíosóig (drums, sampler), with Bilinda Butcher (vocals, guitar) and Debbie Googe (bass). Their music is best known for its merging of dissonant guitar textures, ethereal melody, and unorthodox production techniques.

As partners, these discs leak My Bloody Valentine’s forthcoming intent to go beyond what was in vogue: a renewed style of feedback-pop, a reinvigorated psychedelic revival. In this period of their music, My Bloody Valentine began sailing towards a sound that was the sum of all of the sounds of the era, while at the same time exceeding them.

Before Kevin Shields was a guitar god, before Isn't Anything and Loveless became seminal classics, My Bloody Valentine were a struggling goth band trying to find their place in the music scene. When they disposed of their original singer, they started moving toward Cocteau Twins territory, using guitarist Bilinda Butcher's airy voice to redefine their image.
